Gemayze

Two weeks ago, Sven wanted to see the most famous street Gemayze. From our homes it took us 30 minutes to get downtown and we enjoyed a long walk with a few coffees saturday morning in Beirut.

Some buildings are hidden as little gems behind palm trees.

The typical architecture  for the backyards here in Beirut.

It’s kind of rare to find local handcraft or typical herbs, since you’ll find huge supermarkets practical everywhere around the corner. Still it’s a highlight to me, when I find one of these little shops, that sell local and organic stuff.

One of the hundred bars around here.

Aside the mainroad, we’ve been looking for some still lifes to capture. We found an old mansion, not to far the entry of Gemayze street.

Still it’s also rare to find leafy places here in Beirut.  But if you look aside the main roads, you’ll find dozens of these backyards.
