Photobook friday – The Fantastic Art of Beksinski

Today I want to present you “The Fantastic Art of Beksinski” – by Zdzislaw Beksinski. Published by Morpheus International.

An illustrated book that I can highly recommend to anyone who loves the fantastic and surreal art of H.R.Giger. His style shows clearly some similarities between them, yet Beksinski’s way of realizing his dreams and nightmares into paintings differ in many ways.

Within the first two party of the book you’ll find some nightmarish abstract and haunting pieces drawn and painted by the polish artist. The last part of the book contains newer digital works made by him. Even if it’s not the traditional way, these new pieces succeed to crawl underneath the skin of reader.

A book which made it on top of my all time favorites and a genre of art and skill that inspires me each time I’m reading it.

A very rare and expensive piece to find these days. I was fortunate and found myself a copy on Amazon years ago, nowadays it’s easy to pay a couple of hundreds of Euros for this illustrated book. The only thing that I clearly dislike it it’s simple binding – take care while reading it, it might fall apart easily.

Some of it’s beautiful, yet disturbing masterpieces.
